    xj and mj parts similar?

I believe all MJ and XJ front ends are identical from years 84 through 96. I am not sure about the doors though if you need to back that far. Quadretec shows that the grill surround is different though "the sheetmetal behind the grill" for certain years. You can buy these parts through them...

    Airbag sensors

Grease points I looking into fabbin a front bumper on my 94ZJ. I am wondering where in the front bumper are the airbag sensors and how there are activated (crush or momentum?) and if the contacts are normally open or normally closed. I really would mind keeping the airbag useful for the...

    New front winch bumper.

nice, I am glad to see something a little different I am tired of ugly cattleguard type bumpers. I dont suppose they make one similar for ZJ's. I was thinking of fabricating something similar with the exception of some diamond plate in between the bars. but something allready made would be...

    electrical problem

the multifuction switch is probably the culprit. Pull the steering wheel to get to the switch. You can try using some electrical contact cleaner to clean the electrical contacts or polish them with some steel wool. Its amazing how much "stuff" gets into the steering wheel columm. These are...

    rear tracbar?

Its not that I dont believe you but my Chilton nor my Haynes show cherokee's having a rear track bar. There is no mention of one in quadretec or 4WD catalogs either for cherokee. All they show is one for the grands. I you have a digital camera post a pic up here I would love to see how it is...

    rear tracbar?

I think what you're reffering to as the track bar is actually the sway bar and yes you can remove it with only ill effect is that is the body may roll a little more around corners. the advantage is that you will get a little more articulation when you're wheelin. I dont believe XJ's have a...

Tradin my YJ for a grand cherokee

I did the front to rear coil swap like newbie mentioned above to get the use of a 3" skyjacker lift I put in a XJ I am now going to retire. I had some problems with death wobble(see forum post 94ZJ rear end death wobble for problems I encountered) It works great now but if I did not allready...

    GoOd ByE for now friends.

Where abouts are you located? I have a 84 XJ that I would trade for a set of stock tires for my wife's ZJ. Needs a transmission,tune-up, and lots of TLC but its really cheap to insure. For the price they quoted you on insurance you could afford to modify anyway you want.

    Not a real Jeep?

Several years ago I went places with a 2WD Mitsubishi pickup where a stock YJ with the 4cyl would not go. A "real Jeep" is a modified vehicle which is designed for trail/offroad use. It doen't matter what the nameplate on the side says. Stock Jeeps really aren't not designed for serious...

    94ZJ rear end death wobble

The skyjacker control arms are a about 1/8" longer than stock but I dont think the length mattered. The cam bolts gave me that and more on the stock control arms. I think the fact the bushing was about broke on the one control arm was my problem. Maybe that the skyjacker control arms are a...

    94ZJ rear end death wobble

Well I finally figured it out. I tried lengthening the rear sway bar, changed the rear coil spring Isolators to XJ front coil spring Isolators, loosened all control arm bushings and tighted them with the wheels on the ground, Borrowed a laser surveying tool from my work and did my alignment...

    94ZJ rear end death wobble

Thanks for the quick response. I too suspected tires to out of balance and had them balanced and although they were out of balance it still did its wobble for me once more. I was thinking of dropping to Tcase too to correct angle and had brouught home some 3/8 spacers from my work to try...

    94ZJ rear end death wobble

I lifted my 94 ZJ 3.75 inches with a front to rear coil swap using my 3 inch skyjacker lift coils off my old 84 XJ. I did not use front track bar relocation bracket from the XJ because I had bad problems with it on my XJ. I instead filled the original trackbar hole on the axle side with weld...

    2.8 to a 4.0

the 4.0 will not fit in the engine compartments of the 2.8 liter cherokees. They lengthened the engine compartment in subsquint years to accomodate the length. You have to beat the firewall back to get it to fit. also 2.8l is a GM motor and although the 904 is a Chrysler transmission its bolt...
