First Weekend with new Jeep (First Mods!) Advice needed

1057518 Yeah, what they said.... ;-) Something else that you may consider would be front sway bar disconnects. Even with a stock suspension, this would increase you flex (offroad) by at least 3-4". You can purchase a set for usually $100 or there a do-it-youself plans available on the web...

    TJ Half door problems

1057524 Is there a big discrepancy with the door fit or is it just a matter of the door not hitting the 'catch' properly? If it's the latter, you should be able to make that work... Sorry, I can't offer much more help, but welcome to the board! :-) [addsig]

    sway bars

1057588 I would go with the sway bar disconnects...personal opinion, but if this is your daily driver, it is definitely safer to drive with the sway bar connected. With the disconnects, you get the best of both worlds....better performance off road and stability on the highway.... Disco's are...

    99 wrangler mods

1057934 The usual would be to let the engine breathe a little more.... For starters, ditch the factory air box and get a cone filter of your choice (personal preference is K & N)...pretty cheap mod...should run you about $40 to complete that set-up. Next, different exhaust....Borla...

Why is Jeepz.com worth the effort!

1051200 Jeepz.com is the most friendly Jeep site by far! No offense to the other sites, BUT for anyone new this site is the most inviting! Others seem a little "clickish" sometimes. PS - glad to be back...had a family emergency back home Now I'm attempting to catch up on the boards! How...

Why is Jeepz.com worth the effort!

1051221 Thanks Big and Tug for your comments and support. My Grandfather who was instrumental in my love of cars and everything else in life that is good and worthwhile passed away unexpectectedly at the age of 91. My family lives 1600 miles away and it was a "road trip" to say the least...

    Hi All

1051504 Well, I'm in sunny Port Lavaca TX (for now)...right on the coast. Not bad now, but it's a bit intimidating during hurricane season!! [addsig]

    I Bought a Lemon

1052035 I agree with Tug - absolutely no Jeep is trash...it may be just looking for the right person to adopt it and empty their pockets into it!! That comment almost got you in "Jeep Time Out" (can you tell I have a toddler??!!)... Take care, Patti[addsig]

    air-locker

1052037 ARB's front and rear...yes they are pricey, but completely selectable. My Jeep is a daily driver as well and on-road manners are important in my case. So far, no problems and they perform very well. Patti[addsig]

So What's in Your Tool Bag!

1052041 Here's one from my HazMat courses: a bar of soap if you spring a leak in your fuel tank (just as an example). Works as a decent temporary plug so you don't lose all your fuel. Patti [addsig]
