    Broken Seat Track Release Cable?

You know those seats unbolt from the floor. You don't have to hang upside down with your head underneath. Take it apart and try to replace the cable. Let us know what kind of McGuyvering it takes.

    Winch Capability: 2000lb winch + Jeep Yj = ?

I saw on one of the offroad shows that the suggestion was to use a winch rated at 1.5 times your vehicle weight-loaded. 4000# Jeep = 6000# winch minimum. I think you will burn the motor up on your 2k winch. Now for a short rant: I don't know why people spend thousands of dollars building up...

    stuck in park

Obviously, You have to hold the brake while shifting from Park. I don't know what signals the transmission to tell it you are holding the brake, but you may look there. Could be part of the brake light switch.

Startiing a new club on Campus

Consider organizing the club first if you already have interest generated. You'll have plenty to do between now and break just signing up members and getting bylaws, etc written. Express your desires to the members to find a "Club Vehicle" with the goal of having one by the time you return...

    Jeep broken into ... AGAIN!

You can get all kind of hunting "trail cameras" at lower prices. You would have to secure the camera so it doesn't get stolen as well. I have two Moultrie Models that are infrared, but they do have a bit of a red light that is noticeable if you are looking in that direction. I would still...

cj w amc 360 temp and fuel problem(gauge)

Check your connections at the fuel tank for corroded wires. Also check the grounds. The temp sensor for the 304/360/401 are the same. It's a strong possibility that the wiring behind the dash is the root cause of both. I haven't seen many CJ's who wiring didn't look as if a frag grenade was...

how many cj frame seperation problems?

That is a common area for cracks. Several companies make steering box braces. Currie is one. YJ frames are thicker, one-piece, mandrel bent rails and don't typically have this problem. CJ frames are slightly thinner, two piece channels that were welded together and the cross section narrows...

Question--How Much Does My Jeep Weigh?

Googled it: CJ7 Main Base Page Looks to be a bit heavy for a 3500# rated Class II hitch. Best to err on the high side when towing. It would more likely be ok, but is not advised. I would be more concerned with stopping it. Nother link for hitch info: Receiver Hitch Selection Guide

    Parts?

There are systems out there for lifting the hardtop like you stated. However, one can be made from parts available at your local home improvement store. You could use a hand crank boat winch with the locking sprag against the gear so that you can suspend the top. You would also want some stout...

    Engine trouble 95' wrangler

If the diagnostic says the O2 is bad, change the O2 sensor. Water in the tank, poor tuning, etc could cause the O2 to pickup bad readings. Change the O2 first, so you rule it out as the problem. Then investigate the plugs, wires, distributor. If your 95 has never had new plugs and wires, it...

    Old's motor/transmission in Jeep

It would be more interesting to see you swap one of those 300ZX engines and use a transmission/t case out of a Hardbody or Pathfinder. But that's not what you asked. It would have a Buick/Olds/Pontiac (BOP) pattern on the Engine and Transmisson which is different from a Chevrolet. If you...

Advice Requested - Ordering a new Rubicon Unlimited

To answer some of your questions: Gear ratio: on the Rubi it is 4.10. I don't think a 3.73 is an option on the Rubi model, but more like an upgrade for the other packages. Tow package: sooner or later you will use it...aftermarket racks are popular uses, not just trailers. Air bags: you say...

    Washing your glass'es

Ahhh, my eyes! I didn't read all the way down to #5!!! Personally I would disregard #4 because if you refill either of the two items, you have made yourself liable in the personal injury suit for any contaminents you have introduced which may or may not have caused bodily injury to the poor...

    Several (related) Steering Problems

Does it feel like it's coming from the axle or the steering column? My CJ has had a slight bind for years that is coming from that bearing in the lower part of the steering column. It's pretty easy to feel that it's close to the steering wheel when it "thumps." Good luck.

    Hi

If your'e planning on painting it after all the work, then you can use a little heat on the bolts. Heat it, let it cool, remove. If you strip one out, you have two options. One is to use a drill the diameter of the bolt (1/4, 5/16 or whatever) and drill through the center of the head until...

    Weird encounter with an LEO

Sounds to me like you were putting yourself at risk. Last time I took a nap in a hammock, I got hit in the nads with a hickory nut. Of course, it's spring time and not much chance of that happening. It wasn't the same cop who yelled at the kids who were skate boarding was it?
