wish I could find a $400 XJ...
Your trans is either the AX-5 for the 2.5 or the AX-15 for the 4.0
YJ's have them and they are more plentiful then XJ's with 5 speeds.
I had a '94 with the 2.5 5 speed 4x4 2 door, no power windows or locks. it did have A/C.
I liked it, it did have a little pep to it but not enough for me. I never figured out gas mileage but it was not terrible.
Only 25? every jeep I see I buy.
Probably 100 now. maybe tonight I will take them out of the boxes for a photo. ( just moved and had to pack them up)
Having 2 sons ( 10 and 1 ) gives me a great reason to go to toy stores :)
My Wife and I also had a jeep on the cake ( for me ) and a '68...
When my wife had her 2000 TJ, I also added the mirror relocation brackets.
A problem I had with them is after a year in Ohio the paint on them started to chip and rust up.
So paying the extra for the stainless steel would be well worth it.
I aggree with Twisted here. Swap out the axles to stronger ones with your choice of lockers. Also invest in under body protection and a good roll cage, tied into the frame.
interested in the upper shock mounts for the XJ you are working on.
Pain in the butt fishing the washer/lockwasher/nut thru the small access hole, then getting a wrench on it.
