it's a hole for an aftermarket toggle switch. The previous owners probably had some add on mods like lights, or it's the hole for an alarm warning light that was on the Jeep before you bought it. Rob 8) :P :)

I just lost the bottom seal of my steering box, and called to see if perhaps it was under warrenty. Of course the dealer said no (lift and all) and when I asked how much to fix it, was told that they do not replace the seals. They wanted 700 bucks for the box alone !!!!!!!!! I decided to order...

If you have the 30, in the yj it has a reverse cut ring gear, making it stronger than the 35. http://www.off-road.com/jeep/tech/axle/d30.html I would replace the 35 first. Rob 8) :P :)

I agree with all of the above suggestions, howeverI would do the alignment FIRST. and see what that gives you. Any time you play with the suspension (even some hard core off roading) you should get the allignment checked out and brought in. Once that is done, if you still have some vibe, it is...

We have a local apoulstry(sp?) shop around here that spaecializes in auto's (seats, vinal tops, and such). If this is not available to you, try a furniture repairshop. I would go with a set of seat covers (I think you can get them in leather as well), but then again, I'm not partial to leather...
