Sounds like some swapping has been done. The ax5 only came with 4 bangers. My 87 YJ has a 258 with a BA-10 transmission and NP207 t-case but not with that pattern. That is a Dana 300 shift pattern, someone may have just put the know on there.

When we turned the ones for my buddys when he went spring over we just reused the Scout knuckles and as a bonus they are set up for high steer.

Don't waste any time or money on a D35 unless you don't plan on running anything bigger than a 31" tire. Find a 97 and newer 8.25, direct bolt in except for the fact it doesn't work with ABS, 29 spline shafts and close to D44 strength.

Front will be a D30, rear could be a D35 or Chryco 8.25. If you have ABS good chance it's a D35.

Before you buy new spiders make sure you can get the old ones out. When I weld up a carrier I weld to the carrier as well and you won't ever get them out, they won't break either for than matter and if they did there is enough weld that it wouldn't matter.

The 8.25 is a stock XJ axle and will bolt right in so no new perches or wheel spacers.
