Ok... A lot has happened since I was active last :-( most recent is that my catalytic converter took a big dump on me & crippled the jeep momentarily (auto repair guy told me it was because the jeep was over due for a tune up) I have since cut a hole on the cat so I could get to work & back...

There's a short in the ground wire somewhere between the VSS & C2... tracking that down tomorrow

Everything checks out when I did it, speedo moved but still no speed. How do I check the circuit?

what are these PCM/TCM & circuits? I don't have any other broken wires (that I can see). Does the position of the VSS matter (i.e. 12 o'clock/3 o'clock)?

Here's how I believe it to be correct (matching the 2005 diagram) #1 YL/PK - RED #2 DB/DG - BLA/BLU #3 DB/OR - W/OR

Ok... new VSS installed & still no speed registering :-\ what do I do now?

It said "no faults" & the speedo moved... & my 4WD light came on... it hasn't been on since I got it, thought the bulb was burnt out

What should I look for when doing this?

I found a '99 TJ Sport that had been rolled. The owner bought a new tub but it just sat. tub & drive train $750. It's a 5spd. Could I swap in the 5spd & t case into my jeep?

I wish I lived closer to a 4WDHardware
