D60 for TJ, where do I start?

Yeah, I saw a lot of specs but nothing that about what it takes to stuff one under a TJ

D60 for TJ, where do I start?

I researched & researched & found answers clear a mud... The 1st choice is the '78-'79 F-350 which is non existent :-( so the runner up is the '85-'91.5 F-350 but this has a diff further to the drivers side... Is this going to be too much of an issue for spring pad mounting? Since I can't afford...

    TJ bad vibrations

Don't grab long arm uppers, just short arm adjustable, right? Or are there longer adjustable short arms for rigs with the axle pushed back?

D60 for TJ, where do I start?

I'm looking for a D60 for the front end of my TJ but where do I start? I know it's gotta be a Ford if I'm picking from junk yards but what years are best? How much work is there to make the steering jive? I'll be doing a long arm to the front & have a friend who is a professional welder who...

What did you do to your Jeep today?

I sat & stared longingly at the pile of Jeep parts waiting for nice weather to install them (TeraFlex shifter linkage, TeraFlex SS SYE, Tom Woods rear driveshaft, 6" oval LED tail lights & Dave's Customs Unlimited boat sides)

SYE & driveshaft arrived today... Should I wait until I have adjustable UCAs to install them?

    TJ bad vibrations

I'm looking into adjustable UCAs but I don't want to put "too much" money into the axles/suspension on account of I'm wanting to do an axle swap & 4-link the rear & long arm the front. When I crack the cover open to do the pinion bearings & find that I need gears, I won't be so upset about...

My SYE should be here Friday. I have pinion adjustment bolts to put on the axle end of the LCA but I'm gathering that won't be enough

    TJ bad vibrations

My pinion angle is bad, I wish SkyJacker would have put adjustable uppers in the lift but I guess that's what it's called a "budget lift" :-(

    TJ bad vibrations

Turn it back & forth or move it up & down? I tried rotating it like the driveshaft & it only wiggled slightly. I didn't try moving it up & down... I can't say that I noticed any movement like that when I was rotating it

    TJ bad vibrations

I changed a u joint at the pumpkin but there is still a shake somewhere (no where near as bad... The other u joint was still in good condition so I greased it up & reinstalled

    TJ bad vibrations

No front drive shaft. There is no play in the rear shaft... I'll yank it & inspect... I have several u joints on hand. How bad is a pinion bearing?

    TJ bad vibrations

I'll have the Mrs. help me with that in the am. I did that while it was running at my buddy's & he didn't see anything loose (he's a Jeeper too)

How do you do a dry steering test?

    TJ bad vibrations

The whole dash shakes enough that nothing stays on it... I'm not positive the front end work is responsible but this wasn't present until after that

    TJ bad vibrations

The whole jeep shakes... Steering doesn't shake... I'm thinking it's driveline. I couldn't break the 30mm t-case fill plug loose to check the fluid level

Bad flex plate? I had a friend tell me that he's 80 percent sure that's what it is but its not making any additional noises at an idle
