    flywheel and flexplate bolts

Nice to know the flex plate bolts held up fine all this time under the load and torque of the mighty 327 ! Still a good feeling to have proper bolt size for what it's worth . I had a scatter shield ( bell housing ) on a 396 BB Chevy with a Borg & beck pressure plate . I think it was a Lakewood ...

    flywheel and flexplate bolts

My fears always get the best of me . It's the kind of thing I wouldn't want to experiment with . I mean , maybe it would have been ok but we all know there are reasons why things are made the way they are. If bolts are supposed to thread in a certain depth , I just feel better sticking to design...

I'm concerned about these driveline angles.

Hope someone convinces the owner that it's highly unstable for its lift versus width and wheelbase. Maybe will consider parting it out . Like to make an offer for a clean cj2a body !

I'm concerned about these driveline angles.

There's a reason why long bed pick up trucks are preferred for building extreme lift four wheelers . This is one . I can't see this jeep doing any kind of real off road much less street driving . There isn't any security in thinking the front flange of the rear shaft will take any real torque ...

    flywheel and flexplate bolts

Your most welcome sir ! Forgot to ask but I think from my reading of your first post that the trans/t-case aren't yet bolted back up ? Am I correct ? If that's the case , then absolutely go after getting the right bolts . But yes , looking forward to your next post . p.s.- although it's highly...

    flywheel and flexplate bolts

Respecting your feelings and thoughts about the difference of bolt length . Having done the same job six months back , I know your feelings of tearing it all down again. Sure , it's doable , but do you really want to ? One side of me says " run 'er hard and pray to God " and the other says I...

    1969 cj5

No wonder you were told it's a three speed . The Lo first gear ( granny gear ) isn't used in 2wd too often for normal driving and only for very slow operation or pulling in 4wd. I've used Lo 1st gear with 4wh on hills with an old '78 cherokee . It's a useful gear when the situation calls for it...

    1969 cj5

Agreed , pictures will be best. The T-90 was offered but cannot find in my books of that trans was used with the dauntless engine . The transfer case would be the Dana 18. The shifter to the left selected front axle engagement ( in & out ) and the shifter to the right selected Lo & Hi range ...

Looking for any advice on how to replace my 1995 Jeep YJ 2.5 injectors

Make certain you can get the quick disconnects off before wetting down the o-rings (wd-40) and attempting removal . Sometimes quick disconnects aren't so quick. Sometimes they break . There is a tool available for this .You want to avoid a repair where a parts swap was the plan. If the quick...

    1997 TJ Power Steering

Hello and welcome to jeepz.com . Have you tried a local parts store ? I just replaced a power steering pump and steering box on my Cherokee recently and both parts were available in stock . A replacement reservoir may be a special order part ( I.e. Dormans products) but you may find it locally...

I told my wife that I would spend very little on 1995 YJ that I bought for $1500

in some cases , this is very true. Being a car guy is tough . You have to swing a budget and make time for a relationship and the family. That means , as Mark Sr. stated , priorities , $$ and time. If you spend too much time in the garage , folks think you've had a change of heart. If you can...

I told my wife that I would spend very little on 1995 YJ that I bought for $1500

Agrees X2. Please post pics. Some of the items on your wish list are repair parts and some are upgrade . Just thinking of what the misses is thinking . You've a,ready paid $1500 for a jeep, that cannot be driven . With the holidays rapid,y approaching , we wouldn't want you to be the subject of...

99 2dr xj blower motor quit working

Ok , the power from the fuse first feeds the switch so there should be power read from at least the wire that feeds the switch even if no power is being sent from the switch to the blower motor. The next place power goes after the switch is the blower motor resistor , then , the blower motor...

99 2dr xj blower motor quit working

Agreed , how was the test performed ? What were the results ? If the fan motor spins when jumped to 12volts , the problem may likely be the blower motor resistor or the fan switch . Both , switch and resistor are notorious for failing. Heat and corrosion do their deed to theses parts as well.

    Is it jus me?.....

Gee wiz , this could get serious ! Imagine getting a citation for indecent exposure ? " but officer , I was just climbing out of my jeep when it happened , honest !" We've got to do something ! Hey , remember when Levi made jeep seat material for the CJ's ? Wonder if they would be interested in...

    Help - death wobble

I seemed to have missed the part of your post about the wheel spacers . I take it that your probably running tires much bigger than stock . Hence the reason for the spacers . Never used them myself but have heard complaints if the spacer isn't true to the rim inner surface and/or brake rotor or...

Help with '82 Wagoneer Power Windows & Water in Cab

Wish you would go on about , I still love the SJ. Wish I still had my '78. Pic's are welcome ! agree that door deals could be an issue since the jeep is advanced in years for its shape and rubber loses its flex over time. Cowl leaks are a concern but if you've got no water coming through the...

    Help - death wobble

Hello and welcome to jeepz.com . although I don't own a lifted jeep and am not experiencing the issue currently , I will say you've done all you could to remedy the problem as reasonable and feasible as possible. youve inspected or had inspected the steering and suspension parts and replaced...

    Is it jus me?.....

Well , I guess that is an advantage of owning a cj5. Mounting and dismounting the drivers or passengers seat dosen't entail being concerned getting caught on a door latch as many cj5's may not have mounted hard door except for soft top doors which don't seem to be an issue to this degree . That...

    Changing of the ride

You can't not love it . The JK is an awesome jeep , even if it appears to look more like a truck. To appreciate the TJ , you have to have roots that go back to a YJ or a CJ. I think women just embrace the fact that the JK is a very sound , protective vehicle compared to a smaller jeep like the...
