You shouldn't have to pump the accelerator on start-up of a fuel injected engine, the computer does it for you. I'd have the Jeep scanned for trouble codes at the local parts store to check the sensors.

Transmission in first works too, just need it in gear. Remember to turn the ignition one click to unlock the steering wheel.

If memory serves, it only installs one way.

I would just buy whatever fits the brackets you already have. The important aspect of flat-towing is to ensure the towbar angles down slightly from the Jeep to the truck.

I had my '95 2.5L slightly built and really enjoyed the hell out of it. It was a beast that, with the 5.38 axle gears, scooted the 36" swampers right along. I was lucky to find a Mopar Perofrmance camshaft before they got rid of the last of the close-outs. Used valve springs and retainers...

If it really is a Jeepster you should consider a drum to disc conversion for the front.

I'd find a competent shop to do an alignment. Front tires in line with the rear tires doesn't cut it.

Use the manifolds and throttle body from the '95 if you're willing to convert the engine harness. Keep in mind there's likely a difference in the pilot bushing on the end of the crank.

Is it possible to tell if there were any ATF in the leaking fluid from the transfer case? The transfer case lube is often ATF or close enough to it you can't see a difference. Has the transmission fluid level dropped?

Quite a few RHD XJ's can be found in the States.

You can do just the one, and match the threads between new and old to get the alignment back where it was.
