Is 304 v8 motor any good?

I love it!! decent power, decent mileage (I guess), but they are known for a lack of oiling to the back passenger cyl. I have had many 304,s and only one had the oiling problem. there is a fix for the problem though

New weber carb in a 258 issue

That does appear to be some type of advance system, but is not what the man above designed in the 60,s/70,s that "I" was referring to nor the type the "OP" has on his jeep. I didn't look further into what you posted but does seem to have separate vac advance and centrifugal advance,. I believe...

Anyone out there daily drive a cj7 or cj5

If you plan on driving a cj daily, I would make sure its a dependable one and doesn't need much work. An old cj isn't the best daily driver, they are old and need attention often. It can be done though as I have done it many times, but I also grew up in the cj era and am familiar with them and...

    Jeep Build

Just a word on the AMC20.. I put one piece shafts in a 7 once with a locker and ran it for around 8 years or so and had no problems out of it at all, and I wheeled a lot back then. I would stick with the 20 for now also. For you flat tappet cam, use a oil that contains "high zinc" such as...

    Happy father's day everyone

Their a off brand, PATAGONIA M/T by milestar. 3ply sidewall, big lugs on the tread, bead protected (extra thick rubber around the rim ring). They are really quite on the street for a M/T. I told my daughter, Dad must have been good this year, lol.

    Vacumn advance

Part 2 - Distributor Vacuum Advance Control Units I’ve been seeing a lot of discussion and questions regarding distributor vacuum advance control units; what do they do, which ones are best, what was used on what, etc., etc. To clarify some of this, I thought I’d summarize a few facts and...

    Vacumn advance

This applies to non computer controlled distributors. As many of you are aware, timing and vacuum advance is one of my favorite subjects, as I was involved in the development of some of those systems in my GM days and I understand it. Many people don't, as there has been very little written...

New weber carb in a 258 issue

Dragon, your vac advance is affected my load not rpm, the dist weight are affected by rpm, so at 2 grand in you example are you wide open throttle or cruising? cruising, yes it would be fully advance but would retard as vac is lost, if you are wide open throttle then there would be no vac...
