I like ugly parts. Got any?

The distance from the tcase yoke to the rear axle yoke is just too short, the angle is too severe (wheel base is 81"). I have read where people have done it but the ujoints don't last long and there is vibration. You need a centered diff. your axles should have either 5.38 or 4.88 gears, you...

    Hydraulic assist ram

That looks good.. I have seen some that are waayy too wide for my liking, but yours looks good.. If you could send me a link or email that would be great. I have been wanting to do this for some time, I have a 60,s chevy 327 in my 69 jeep and the stock axles will not take the power, I have...

    Hydraulic assist ram

I want to know more about putting those 60's under it... can you post a pic of straight on? want a look at how wide the stance is with the 60's. I want to go wagoneer 44's but if the width is right for me, I might as well go 60 in the rear and 44 up front. any pics and info would be great...

    road drift

I don't know much about the tj suspension, but have read things.. with the link suspension aren't the control arms adjustable? if so, then if they are set too short wouldn't that tilt the front axle and change the steering geometry? inducing bump steer and wandering? I may be way off here as I...

which mount best for 350 swap?

For the 327 in my 69 it looks like whoever put the engine in, used the stock motor mounts (factory v6, probably moved them) but cut a notch out of the drivers side mount to clear the steering shaft from a cross over steering swap. I have seen some of the after market mounts and cradles and like...

I like ugly parts. Got any?

early 80,s cj 4cyl bellhousing is a buick bell with GM bolt pattern that will bolt to your 176. no adapter needed, but you would have to adapt your tcase unless you went d300 case, the 300 is direct bolt up. issues with doing that is the 300 uses a centered rear axle and you have a offset rear...

Buying new bushings and removing track bars on YJ

I cant tell you anything about the track bar as I have never had one. The bushings can be tough to get out, you may need to cut bolts, use heat to soften the rubber bushing so it can slide out easier, hammers and a punch ect... I don't see the need to remove the axle ubolts to change the spring...

    Wrangler X 2006 TJ, rear brakes lock-up.

If you look at your brake shoes, the braking material on one shoe is longer than the other. Don't remember which way they go, but one of them go's on facing the front of the jeep, if installed backwards it will affect your braking possibly causing your issue. I think the above posts are hinting...

    flywheel and flexplate bolts

no real reason for the pics other than I know we like looking at them.. The trans would not go in with the bell attached to it so I have to bolt the bell on before the trans went in

    flywheel and flexplate bolts

Yes, I know about the scatter shields and have wondered if they would work myself. I know a lot of people run them that race, maybe some day I will really look into that, but I feel fine now with the correct bolts in there. Funny thing or not so funny thing is, I took flex plate bolts out of it...

    flywheel and flexplate bolts

So I got the new correct bolts, wish I had gotten a pic to show the length difference for others to see, I feel much better with these. I just had visions of that flywheel coming loose and taking my legs with it, seems I have heard of that happening before to someone, as mentioned above "their...

    flywheel and flexplate bolts

Well, im with you greg. Im going to go get the correct bolts this morning, im off work today so im going to work on the jeep. They would probably be just fine but every time I got on the gas hard those bolts would be in the back of my mind, getting the correct ones would eliminate that concern...
