Looks like a nice EZ inexpensive alternative to the ones requiring tail light removal. The exposed OEM gas cap is not only vulnerable to vandalism but if one goes off-road they tend to get caked with mud. My JK came with the Mopar door and I added the Stant locking gas cap.

As mentioned make the move to LED fog lights (preferably SAE) which are more reliable, draw less amps and are easy to install. Holes in the bumper make the job super ez just need to find the right spot for the new switch.

Was this a gradual problem with any symptoms or a sudden problem? Any noises or grinding or burnt toast smells? Otherwise ya might have to drop the trans or take the jeep into a shop.

Light bars have their uses but just be prepared for some cons: windshield mounted light bars can whistle at speed, glare off hood, DMV might want them covered, off-road use only, and top brand light bars can be spendy I went with a 28" Quadratec J3 bumper mounted. It's a limited use off-road...

Thats a wide range in price for a blower motor. Some replacement parts are just imported second rate products. Seems you isolated the problem. If you're keeping the JGC bite the bullet and replace the blower motor.

What you're experiencing is whats been called "crabbing". The 4WD system in Wranglers is a part-time system designed to be used primarily off-road, loose gravel or dirt roads. The only recent exception is the Selec-Trac option offered on the new JL Wrangler which has a full-time 4WD mode as well...

Just in case your "4x4" is special....buy a couple different sizes while visiting USA. Most auto parts stores stock them and they are not expensive.

IMO to go from HID to halogen you and/or your mechanic will have to review the wiring diagram for the Jeep HID system and wire up the simpler halogen system. It will not be plug+play without some work. Not too tough but easier than halogen to HID.

@terrymason provided a lot of great suggestions for less costly DIY alternatives. If you want to retain the HID then you need to spend the big bucks for quality replacement as your GC is set up for HID.

Great explanation why DRL have to turn off with turn signals from members and jalopnik but it still looks dumb!
