IME a properly hand-tightened oil filter usually required an oil filter wrench in order to remove the oil filter during the regular OCI. I suspect the oil filter was not properly tightened in the past and hopefully the threads are not the issue. On a cold engine check oil filter for tightness...

Some WP failures are either leaks or squeals so curious what you mean by new/old pump gave up.

If it ain't rattling or making any noise I'd leave it and forget about it. Could try a small magnet tip retrieval/inspection tool and see if you get lucky.

IMO other than addressing the leaky valve cover leave the heads alone. Continue regular maintenance on the engine, trans, PS, PB and coolant. My engine oil change interval is 4-5K with synthetic oil and its super ez.

Crutchfield is a good site that provides all the trim, brackets and info needed to install their products. Not sure whats too techy as they have a range of radios to choose from.

Basic things to check first would be trans fluid level and trans fluid color. Dark burnt or contaminated fluid may be indicative of additional issues. Performed any trans maintenance as per schedule?

In addition to the above suggestions make sure you have good solid grounds: i.e.: engine to chassis etc. Seen too many cases of badly corroded ground wires on older vehicles.

My suspicion is the junk yard brake booster if air in the lines are not the issue.

JGC looks great and the mudflaps will do the job keeping it cleaner.

@jeepinaround...good tip for extra storage. Took this to another level by adding an organizer for the deep jeep center console.

This weekend I changed the motor oil, checked the brakes and rotated the tires in the Jeep and the other two vehicles in preparation for a long cold winter. Better to do it now than wait for the first frosty day. Tire pressure checked and pumped up to specs. Can't wait for the Spring weather again!
