    The only real diference between a CJ7 and a CJ8 is the wheel base. Most parts will interchange. Here's a chart to tell the different models apart. Smith's 4x4 Parts - Jeep Identification

    You have your hinges upside down. I made the same mistake the first time i mounted a set. Turn them over and see if that doesn't make a difference.

    Not sure where you found that, But i didn't have to shim mine. You might want to shim out so the drop down cables don't hit the door opening. I didn't bother to on mine.

    I don't have any pictures. My camera and computer don't seem to be getting along lately. I used the CJ hinges. I cut out two small plates and drilled and tapped the same pattern as the hinges to recieve the bolts. I cut two small slots under where the hinges go, in the rear crossmember to slide...

    I did mine. I like it a lot better than the swing open gate. It makes for a nice work bench.

    You will also need a new steering shaft. The shaft comming out of the steering box is larger on the power steering box.

    No sarcasm meant here, but when you buy cheap, you get cheap. I learned the hard way too. When i emailed them with a problem with one of there products, They told me there was nothing they would do for me. I hope you have better luck.

    If you're talking about a mopar alternator, Yes i have. Use a two post regulator from an 80s mopar vehicle.

    Oil selection?

    Get some oil with zink additive in it or get some zink to put in your oil. I think they call it ZDDP They used it back when but took it out for emisions reasons. These older engines weren't desighned to run without it. It makes the oil stick to parts better.

    Shouldn't hurt anything to remove it. But i doupt that it will help your mpg. The frond axles and gears are still turning. I took the driveshaft out of a 93 GC that i had and didn't see any diference
