I have the CD that covers many years for the alarm system. I was going to use it to put a '93 ZJ harness in my '84 J10 (what a mess that was!)

    front drive shaft

The full time tcase (NV249) in the Grand Cherokee will explode it's viscous coupler if you remove the front driveshaft. If you convert to a NV231 or NV242 you can put it in 2wd to save gas.

Different combustion chamber sizes 74 vs 85

The later heads are bigger combustion chamber for lower compression ratio and the pistons are popped up after '78 to boost the ratio plus bigger valves allow them to breath better. The intake changes between '70s and '80s increased flow considerably too.

6.2 diesel, trans and transfer case in a 90 yj ?

You know you're in trouble when the motor alone outweighs the vehicle! A few full size Jeeps have them swapped in and it's pretty heavy for them too. If the GM is solid axle, the front bolts in but the rear needs spring pads. 3" lift springs in front will make it sit level.

89 yj dead miss cyl #5

The '79-81 head (with tin cover) had an issue of cracking valve guides that suddenly bound valves and caused them to smack the piston as it came up.

Questions about the 258 from 1980 vs. 1986?

If you have a tin valvecover, then it's the eariler stuff (71 258 is a year by itself for crankshaft and bellhousing. Starter is driver's side) '72 up got the same bell as AMC V8 with self centering flange and starter pass side. They lightened the crank the first time late '78 and again in late...

    Any criminals here besides me

I "accidentally" (I didn't know) ran through a speed trap at about 160 mph in the prairies while test driving my Mazda RX2 twin turbo race car (after several cold barley sandwiches) I went to light a cigarette (quit smoking shortly after that) and dropped the lighter in my lap.
