The fan may have been damaged by hitting the shroud and now it's off balance. Remove the fan temporarily and see if the noise/vibe goes away. (no longer than 10 minutes running!)

You can run a GM HEI dist with AMC drive gear with a carb of your choosing. The harness will be needed for lights etc, but the motor will run that way.

You can download a program to your laptop that you can plug into the OBD port and read "real time" what's going on. A buddy has it but I don't recall the cost. It was cheaper than a Snap On MT2500 though.

It can also be corrected temporarily by speeding up. ;) I would look at the ground wire attachment point next to the coil. They come loose and corrode, then heat up and cause all sorts of issues.

For offroad use I have drilled the old ones (AFTER finding the correct Ubolts to fit!) You need to undercut the backside for the nuts to fit and turn.

If you bought it from a dealer, they should warranty it. If not, check around for stereo and alarm install shops that know how to bypass it.
