    Ford bulldog trans?

I've found a Ford bulldog 4speed trans from a late 80's 4X4 truck that can be had pretty cheap. It's behind a 300-6 at the moment. Would this work and bolt up to a 304? If so is it a pretty strait forward swap?

    Transmission Qs

    I bet a 33x 15.50 looks awesome! I'm old school, I don't much care for the newer 17, 18 and 20's Oring style mudders.

    1982 cj5 rebuild

I cut the wheel well like Super J mentioned, I angled the wheel well to the same angle as the seat back. If I were you I would cut and test fit the seats where I wanted before welding it back up. Also put seats in that were thinner that would allow more space. The high backs seem thinner to me...

    1982 cj5 rebuild

If you decide to do this yourself you should get a box of ziplock bags and as you remove the bolts, nuts, washers and shims put them in a bag with a label and or note where they came from and what they were for. Also take pictures as you take it appart so you will have a reference to guide you...

Thanks guys, yea the more I looked at it the more I realized there has been some monkey biz with the door handles. There are several things that need taken care of, I'm going to drive it a couple weeks then fix on it some. It needs a windshield frame pretty bad it also has a rusted spot in the...

    Transmission Qs

I've been driving a CJ5 with a 4" lift and 33's for the last couple years as daily driver and to play in. Rides pretty rough, it has been fun though. Last week I bought an 82 CJ8 all stock, no lift. It rides pretty darn good, really suprised me. My 5 has the T176, I've been hard on it at...

CJ hard door, latches an locks?

My daughter in law will be over soon, I'll get her to take a pic. I shoulda asked the guy but I had worn him out with questions about the whole Jeep in general. He was a great guy, filled it up with gas before I came to pick it up. I almost think they're mounted wrong but it still doesn't...

I bought anthor Scrambler, it's an 82 one owner that's pretty close to the way it came. I will take and post pics soon, been kinda crazy getting Christmas stuff done an so forth. Getting an oil pump primed

Yea prob wouldn't have let go in the driveway, it woulda sheared in traffic halfway home from work. One other thing that sucks is the oil pump is dripping, it's no biggie to fix but I hate re-doing it. Oh well...nature of the beast...mine anyway.

where to get amc 304 reman heads

Hate to hear that, that is a tight spot to try an remove a broke bolt. If it were me I might just pull the engine to get to it better and not pull the head. Be ware of the snowball effect...what starts out as fixing a broken bolt may turn into 3grand. I wouldn't replace the heads and not do...

    Getting an oil pump primed

Got it primed! The big hoss 'lectric DeWalt drill did the trick. I also noticed my distributor drive gear a bit loose. Under closer examination it was just about to shear the roll pin that held it on. It's up and running again, thanks for the input guys.

    Getting an oil pump primed

Thanks for the reply guys, I've been pretty busy and haven't had a chance to get back to it but I've been thinking about it. Last time I did the vaseline trick was when I rebuilt my oil pump a couple years ago. Then I used a drill to prime it instead of just cranking it. As a good friend...

    Getting an oil pump primed

OK...It's like this see... all the leaks that my good ole AMC 304 had were getting on my nerves. So I bought a bunch of gaskets (timing cover, front and rear seal pan gasket and a few others and I spent some quality time under my Jeep. I think I got it sealed up pretty good. Whilest I had the...

    4bt or 6bt swap

I'm not much on diesels myself but I do like the '83 Jeep Scrambler for sale on ebay that has the built turbo 4bt, on '42's with a bunch of other goodies. I'd post the link but I don't know how. Check it out though it's awesome! Says it'll play all day in the mud then easily run down the...
