96 xj backfire and no power

Use only oem sensors. Jeeps are finicky. Or put the old ones back being nothing changed. Any codes? What are they? Running takes three things, air fuel and spark. Clean the battery terminals inspect the wires specially the negative cables clean the opposite ends, where they attached to the...

    Is this brake rotor cracked?

T does look like the pad. I had an f150 stock rotor with a quarter sized rough spot like that. It would wear pads fast and lock up on the first brake application when cold. Imagine pulling out from parallel parking and getting up to speed. Light turns yellow so you gently apply the brake...

    Just watching it burn

Oh man that’s hard. Jobs can be replaced. Mother-in-laws can’t. Use the time. Regroup and come away better. Indeed.com has 3 postings. The New England states have the highest demand. Big move though. https://ptt.edu/top-5-highest-paying-states-in-united-states-for-welders/ Never look down...

Recommendations for LED Headlights/Bulbs for 2021 JL

In my honest opinion, LED headlights that are 5000K to 5500K project the best light. Most aftermarkets are 6500K that are blue tint. While a brightness meter will pick up the peak brightness your eye will not. I put a pair of 5000K Novolight in my son’s vehicle and loved them when we replaced...

    Key dance doesn’t pull codes

Thanks Terry! Replacing all injectors being they have gas puddled in the connector. Explains the gas smell under the hood. Thing was i couldn’t get the codes from the key dance. Never look down on anyone unless you are helping them up - Jesse Jackson

    Key dance doesn’t pull codes

Nope! The engine is misfiring. Engine light is blinking. Shut vehicle off then key on and the check engine light is on. Key dance -no codes in odometer Use code reader and see P0205 and P0305. Same when P0457 gas cap sets. No odometer display of code. ONDII reader sees the code. The...

    Key dance doesn’t pull codes

2008 Jeep liberty 3.7 I’ve had the P0457 gas cap code a few times. After one or two times the key dance stopped working . It shows —————- then changes to dOne. Now having P0305 and P0205 code but the key dance shows nothing. So I had to drive to a shop for a code reader Has anyone run into...

I just bought a '69 CJ5 and I need some assistance with tire size and lift recommendations

I dont have all your answers but #2 is offset to not rub. If you recenter the tire in the wheel well it will rub before full turn. Also might catch inner wheel well when flexing. And those are some large lugs to rub. More like stop on. Never look down on anyone unless you are helping them up...

    Leaking power steering box

Idk. Id first clean it off with brake cleaner. And see how long before it returns. Also be sure it is not a drip from above. Consider just replacing output shaft seal. Never look down on anyone unless you are helping them up - Jesse Jackson
