    the death shake

If the tires are in good condition I would try the simplest first. All are fairly common, but the first three are fairly easy fixes: Tires unbalanced (possibly a weight got knocked off while offroad, or maybe they were never well balanced and this became more evident as they have worn-in a...

    2.5-3" leaf spring options

A buddy of mine ran OME on his YJ, they may be the only suspension company that claims a ride better than stock, and actually accomplishes it. The only issue I have is if it is enough lift. I'd like 3-3.5 and their springs are all 2.5".

    2.5-3" leaf spring options

That's what I had on my fist Jeep! I remember when I got them hardly anyone had ever heard of them. That may be the ticket...

    2.5-3" leaf spring options

I'm looking to replace the worn out 2.5" Rubicon Express (Standard Duty) springs on my YJ. They were put on as a complete lift kits, so all I really need is the springs and hardware. Any recommendations? I'm looking for 2.5-3.5" tops. 3" would be perfect. I don't have a SYE on the Jeep, so...

    Hello Jeepz!

Haha yeah, I hope so too. I have a 91 YJ. It's a Sahara model with the 4.0L and a 3 speed auto transmission. Standard axles and a Rubicon Express 2.5 Standard Duty kit on it, but I think I am going to upgrade those leaf springs as they have seen some hard use and are well worn. I've lost...

2" lift without buying a kit or springs

If you're looking to get 2" lift on a YJ on the cheap, you'd best be served by combining a 1" body lift and maybe getting shackles that are 1 1/2" longer than stock. That'll net you about 1 3/4" total lift between the two. To get any more lift than that you really need either lift springs or...

    Which hardtop

Personally, I would try to find a nice but used factory top rather than a new one. The vents do in fact work.

    Hello Jeepz!

Hey there, folks! It's been a while, my Jeep has been off the road for over 2 years now and I am finally getting around to fixing it. Should be done in about a week if all goes well. Anyhow, just wondering how many familiar faces I will see on here as I get back to this forum... It was kind...

New Offroad Park in Central PA!!!

That is awesome news and after the strip-mining completely destroyed the landscape, and made dead streams out of the surrounding waterways, NO ONE can claim that the offroad enthusiasts are endangering anything.

    RC jeep???

I have a 2.5 Nitro T-Maxx and love it. There's a Jeep body available, and we have one, but I can't remember where we got it. I'm sure one won't be hard to find. I highly recommend you get a good roll cage for it. Upgrade Suspension parts to aluminum as they break (they will break as you hit...

    Painting wheels...

I did a set several years ago. I used a wire wheel to remove imperfections and also to rough them up to allow the coating to better adhere to the wheels. I used VHT wheel paint in the spray cans. It is also available in a can. They looked good. That Jeep (or any opf the other ones I have...

New rims and tires for my wrangler

I did a set of those in black on my first YJ. I like those wheels and they look great on your Jeep. You obviously put more effort into yours than I did mine. lol

    1st gear issues

Not shifting smoothly, and when you do get smooth shifts it will be when the RPM's are ideal to do so. The glittery oil that BH referred to is the real tell. Change the oil in it either way. Use the MT90. Lastly... why downshift into 1st gear anyhow?
