97 tj. Something snapped in the rear ??

So after ordering a setup bearing for the inside pinion, they finally told me it will 3 weeks (after this one week) for shipping. 🤦*♂️ So I decided to make my own. Took all of 3 mins. Using a spare new bearing I used a 1.5” 60 grit flapper disc/barrel for cordless drill. ID of bearing is...

    Leaky pinion

That would be correct from what I’ve seen too. Be sure to mark shaft and yoke so they go back together the same way. Sent from my iPhone using Jeepz.com mobile app

97 tj. Something snapped in the rear ??

The last any real 4 wheelin was done about 15 yrs ago. My guess is that the bolts were never loctite but eventually came loose and forces of driving broke them. Just glad the broken ones didn’t back out like the one that destroyed the diff Carrier has a Nick in it but nothing to bother...

97 tj. Something snapped in the rear ??

So another quick update after I’ve got all the gears out of this thing it turns out that of the seven bolts for the ring gear three of them are missing and one had its head sheared off. And it actually slips just a bit off the carrier. So it would seem the rest of the bolts aren’t very tight...

97 tj. Something snapped in the rear ??

So quick question. My old carrier gears have 14 teeth for axle side gear and spider gears have 10 teeth. Replacement gears have 13 and 9 teeth respectively. Seems to be an ok arrangement. Same size diameter and fits axle ok. Is this normal? . Sent from my iPhone using Jeepz.com...

The front will be another time. My 4 wheeling is less than .1% of my driving. Not LS. Should be stock everything. Appreciate the reminder though. ! Sent from my iPhone using Jeepz.com mobile app

3.07 ratio as per the diff tag. I could go up to 3.55 but required new carrier. Which I’ll need to inspect once removed. It’s possible that is damaged given the collision of metal going on in there from the bolts. Sent from my iPhone using Jeepz.com mobile app
