I had a "77 CJ7 with a 304 & a 3spd. The 304 had a lot of torque off the line especially in the lightweight CJ. A PO had put a Holley 750 4bbl on it which was a bit over carbed,but I never had a problem with it. You could literally start from a dead stop in 3rd gear. Watch the oil pressure...

93 was the Vin code for CJ7(comes from 93"Wheelbase) 83 as CJ5(83"wb after 1971)

Bummer on your run of bad luck!! When it rains it pours. Just a note on using Styrofoam for your pushrod holder. When reassembling be sure to "blow out" the oil passage in the pushrods to make sure there's no Styrofoam in there. Don't ask how I learned that. Good luck & let us know how it goes!

I'm thinking maybe your headlight switch is crossed with your gauge wiring instead of the gauge lights.

Bad grounds can drive you crazy!!!! Some more info would be helpful in assisting in this chase....in the meantime here's a few things to check. Tail lights on CJs are notorious for rusting at the grounding points. Lose connections on hot or ground wires can cause lights to flicker. The pass...

Jeep made some different models for other parts of the world....many were made under contract in the countries they were sold in. That's my bet. Looks like a CJ front clip,but the rest is mighty Toyota looking...also it looks like it's a right hand drive.
