cj with lift springs unstable on road

So I've finally been able to drive this thing. The steering is much better than it was when I bought it, I've replaced the steering shaft with one with u joints top and bottom, replaced all the steering box mount bolts with new grade 8s, the front shackles and bushings are OEM replacements...

New hd shaft is too short

I got it in. I ended up pulling it out and slamming it into the floor hoping it would shorten. And it did. So I lubed it up and kept extending it and shortening it and eventually it expanded to almost 37", when at the beginning it was barely 33". It needed to be lubed and worked a little and...

Yea put that thing back in there and get discos. My buddy removed his on his Rubicon. Borrowed it in July and had to use the highway. That thing was super sloppy and kinda all over the place. Yea, you get used to it and maybe ok with it but that one time when you gotta plant the brakes and...

electric fuel pump for AMC 304

You bring up something I forgot about.. the vent line. In my quest to eliminate all the clutter and broken stuff under the hood I removed the charcoal can too. The po installed a holley 2 bbl with no emissions provisions. I also noticed the charcoal can was broken in 2. Said screw it and...

Ya no kidding. That thing was 140. Arrived today, install tomo. Its a nice piece though. Replaceable ujoints top and bottom. Feels nice and solid with absolutely no play whatsoever as I twist it in my arms. With my luck lately I could see replacing this thing to find the box isn't as good as...

    need seats, any recommendations?

This cj I bought has a beach seat which at first I liked but its kinda slippery, especially on turns and since I don't use doors I'd like to have my bum firmly in a seat as I make a hard right skipping through a yellow light and not be hanging on by a seatbelt and a steering wheel. I'm just...

Nah its def the upper ujoint. I took out the shaft to make it easier to do the couples down below to realize hell, I went this far let's see what I can do to the top to eliminate all the known play. electric fuel pump for AMC 304

I mounted it on the frame rail under the xfer case skid plate, made sure gravity helped fuel get to the pump before confirming the mounting position so it would mostly just push fuel and not bothe pull and push.

Hmmmmmm. It has the 76 stamp on it. Makes sense as the more I go over this thing the more I notice its a frankenjeep. The po didn't know much about cars, wanted a beach jeept to cruise in and got in over his head or wallet. I'm assuming he bought it from the guy who did the mods I'm finding...

Saving up for a Jeep, which one should I get? Cj, Tj, or Yj

Yj or cj. IMO any jeep with the full cage just looks lame. Get anything pre 92. Easy to fix, plenty of aftermarket options, inexpensive upgrades and they still have a rugged look. After the full cage its as if jeep became soft and concentrated on creature comforts over performance. Hummer did...
