thanks,will a 30-43le transmission fit into a 1987 wrangler? what im trying to do is keep and auto transmission in the jeep ,my daughter cant use a clutch,and she wont use it off road

hello i have a 1987 yj with a 6cyl and the transmission is bad,i am wondering if anybody knows how to tell what model of transmission it has in in from the serial #? i have checked around with dealers and repair shops and nobody can give me an answer,so i am asking for your help. thank
