Transmission spade plug?

I have a '82 CJ-5 with a T-150 3 speed transmission... On the top of the transmission is a 2 headed plug. It has to spade type connectors, one turned one way and the other exactly the opposite of it.. what is this for?

If anyone can find out for sure, I have the same question. Also, if anyone knows where to find replacements for them, please let me know. Mine are damaged.
