Good to meet you, I'm Randy

I've never met Levi, but his name has come up a couple times around AZVJC in relation to extended wheelbase rigs.

Unfortunately I've never used messenger because I sneak on to post real fast when the wife and kids aren't looking

Randy it has come to my attention that you are there and then gone very fast, you must have trained long and hard to become a sniper poster.
Levi is a good friend and last I had heard and seen his rig it was pretty damn cool. I will be out in your area on the 11-16 of aug, will have the wife and kids but no jeep, I'm not up to it yet. Went and did some geocaching today, found one treasure, another was gone. Oh well. If you dont mind I'll try and look you up while Im out there.

Yeah it's taken practice

Yeah look me up when you're out, we'll grab a coffee or a beer, or run somethin over or something. It's too bad you wont be out over the following weekend, the AZVJC annual run to Crown King is going down on the 19th. It's always a good time.

Man that sounds tempting, I had to turn down a ride here yesterday, there are some of us that add Geocaching into our trips, anyway I am a soon to be retired deputy sheriff, I was run over by a semi truck five years ago, and I am still recovering from my second surgery four weeks ago, but give me a couple months and Ill push my luck. Coffe sounds good, Ill hit you up when Im out.

Ummm....yer supposed to put the stop sticks down on the ground. Kinda like fireworks, never hold'em in yer hand!!:p

j/k bud. Sounds like you and Dropseys have a bit in common. He's a LEO from MD that got run over by a whacked-out woman that fled the scene. They caught her and have just recently sentenced her to 6 moonths.

How long have you been geocaching? I've been into it for around 3 years or so, I guess. I don't log online anymore, I don't want to give Jeremy the swelled head.

Wow that sucks, were you intentionally run over or was it an accident?
Hard to say, we never caught the guy or the truck that did it, my nearest backup was 30 min out and the driver was GONE. It makes no difference, I have a HUGE love for life and I am now in the least pain Ive been in in 5 years, Life is great. I am looking forward to doin some trails, we did the john bull trail out here and I was thoroughly impressed with Jeep capabilities, built up or not. how long have you been into jeeps yourself? Does your wife go with you? How about the kids?

I have just started the whole geocache thing with my wife and a couple friends. Man I wish we could have caught the guy that hit me he would also be doing time, my backup was about 20 minutes out and the guy and his rig were LONG gone, only a witness to give a description. After my back surgery tho I am back in the saddle, just can't be a cop anymore. There is life after law enforcement, it's called JEEPIN.

I've been into off-roading forever, though I must admit that I was seduced by speed at a young age and on-road won out for quite awhile. I got into Jeeping about 7 years ago with a junk heap 82 CJ-5, and then ditched the CJ and picked up the TJ in 03. My wife loves to go with me on 2.5 and easier trails, she doesn't really dig steep/off-camber or boulder-field type situations. The boy loves to come along, but mainly to get to a spot where he can hit things with sticks or rocks and/or play in water. My father-in-law has an 82 CJ-7 and heads out into the desert with my son two or three times a month as well.

Hey man sorry to hear about your accident. I definately know how you feel. I was hit and chucked into the back of my patrol car by some crazy woman. She only got 6 months too. They didn't catch her until the next day and the only reason they caught her was because she ditched her car. Had she not done that she would have gotten away with it. The surgery part really sucks, but we have to look at it that we are still here for a reason. My wife always says that it may have been gods way of saying alright, its not your time, but you need to get out of police work now because the next car you stop will kill you. I still can't move my foot and i have some nerve damage, but they haven't retired me yet. Everyone says they are going to, but geeze i have no idea what else i want to get paid to do. I don't think anyone will pay me to ride my jeep around in the mud all day. I have to get up with you some time i have some questions about this retiremetn thing. Take care my brother.

P.S. where in So Cal are you? My wife is from LA and we are looking to eventually move to Modesto. Just waiting on civil matters to be finished and find out what the workmans comp people are doing.
