i bought a 75 j10 has a 3 speed manual and a quadratrack...can i swap a 205? or a 208? with the front axle shaft on the passenger side to run a dana 44 out of a chevy? or do i have to run a chevy engine, trans, n tcase?...thanks

I don't think there is another transfer case that will bolt in place of the quadratrac, may require a different transmission as well.

Standard trans Jeeps never came with Quadratrac. (that's not counting the NP219 which is a "fake" Quadratrac because it's not made by Borg Warner)
It's a Dana 20 or Dana 18 with standard trans till '80. (NP208 was after that) Another option is to replace the internals with Early Bronco parts and get 3.15:1 low range (or I hear a 4:1 ia available aftermarket but may take some machining to work)

NP205 or NP203 are HUGE, heavy and poorly geared at 2:1 low range.

I put a Chev axle in mine for 7" of SOA lift, but you need a matching rear one for gears and high steer arms (I got mine from http://ottindustries.com in Canada before they were having delivery problems)
