Don't remember who did the good remake several years ago, kinda rocked it, and that was good, but I still prefer Johnny Cash's version of it.
 

was it "video killed the radio star"... I don't know who sang it though...

Yup, that's the one. I used to watch MTV in the very early 80's, back when it was still pretty decent. Went downhill pretty quick, though.

I switched over to VH1 for a bit but now neither of them play any music and CMT isn't far behind'em..... Music Television, yeah right! Not anymore, huh?
