Converting Manual to Power Assist Brakes

Is converting a 1986 CJ7 from manual to power assist brakes as easy as swapping the manual booster for a power assited unit and hooking up a vacuum line?

Anything else I need to buy/swap/modify?

You'll need a new air cleaner. The non power one will hit the new booster.
Here's an example

You'll need the booster along with a bracket. I believe there is some cutting of the firewall involved.

I swapped my manual for a hydroboost unit from a '97 Dodge Ram 2500. It's a bit more complicated than vacuum assist, but I have no trouble stopping now; and my leg does not cramp up pushing the pedal. Push too quickly and I will need to replace the windshield! Hoping to get an article together to show what I did and what problems I encountered.
