Brake Lights...kaput!

Anybody have trouble with shorts or wiring defects in theor brake lights? I have all new bulbs except in the "ET" light and a new fuse and still my brake lights are gone. Input appreciated!

does your cruise turn off when you hit the brake pedal? if the brake light switch controls both, then you won;t have lights or be able to turn cruise off by hitting the brakes if your switch is bad

I should mention that the tail lights and reverse lights work fine. Just no brake lights...weird!:roll:

Brake switch, fuse, ground, loose socket? Wrong bulbs? Could be a number of things clean your grounds try running a wire right from bulb to ground to see.

Rig up a wire with aligator clips on each end. Use the wire to run a temporary ground direct from the frame to the tail light. If that solves the problem, you may have lost ground where your tail light housing attaches to the vehicle....this is fairly common.
