i appreciate the pictures and was heading more towards that route. But I'm just concerned about putting a cold air intake filter at the top exposed. I was told I just have to keep it really oiled up. Since the stock air box is long gone and the YJ has a cold air intake already. where did you get your intake top end?

First of all, it's not mine, it's a good friend of mine's. Secondly, he used the stock airbox's filter. A K&N drop-in works nicely there. The top of the snorkel isn't a filter, it's just a PVC cap to keep the rain out, much larger than the piping used for the air intake. I'm not sure how he connected the 2 together while allowing good airflow but it worked and worked well. Never had any water in there so he must have done something right ;)

I imagine a stock airbox could be bought or found for next to nothing.

-edit-
I plan on doing this to mine, but there's a few mods ahead of it. I hope to make the PVC a little neater than his (Sorry Matt or Kevin if you guys are reading this lol)

I finished it with better than I expected results. The cold air intake sits at the top and man, what torque. A lot better than expected. And with the ARB compressor in the stock air boxes original spot I ran it out the passenger side instead of the driver's side.
Again, thanks for the help.

Wonder why everyone knocks on the endo bar. Its safe. Made by a professional welder. Jeep is for sale. Asking 12k - but only offered 5k on ebay... darnest of luck there. This is an extreme rock crawler - The ARB's, and the AT's will get you where you need to go - cross country or as the crow flies. Need to fund Moon Buggy - alot of the same concept but less bling.

Front and rear bumper's are not bolt on's they are weld on's. As for the snorkel, it has an Outerwear's waterproof cover on it so even in the pooring rain, it sucks in nothing. They work great! Made for ATV's just converted to the K and N cover.

LOL I asked about that almost a year ago

That's cool, I was wondering what the deal was there. I didn't know anyone made a waterproof cover like that. Good to know.

I saw your Jeep around West York once, pulling out of the mall parking lot. Nice looking YJ ;)
