putting in bedliner?

Im putting in a bedliner in my jeep cj5 and I was wondering if it is absolutely necessary to strip all the interior paint. I have grinded out all the rust I just have a bunch of paint left and its quite time consuming.

You can just scuff it with a wire brush if the paint is on really good... But keep in mind that the liner's hold will only be as good as the paint's hold.

another thing..... what do yall think of lizard skin (LizardSkin 50100 - LizardSkin Original Ceramic Insulation - Overview - SummitRacing.com). how much will it really decrease the heat coming in from the engine?
