I have a 91 yj and I was wondering if an od trans from a cherokee would be an even swap?

Auto or stick? 4 or 6 cyl?

You'll need the TCM to make it work but it can be done. The AW4 is a pretty good transmission too.

The AW4 transmission from an XJ is a great option.

No it's far from a direct swap. Check out the link I posted, the same mods will likely apply to you.
