So I'm working on building a cj5 from scratch. I've got bran new 3 1/2 inch highlift leafs wondering if it's better to throw them on or under axle anybody with pros and cons I'd appreciate it, thanks
under would be ideal. with a spring that tall and an SOA, spring wrap will kill the springs. also the jeep will be really tall. you can easily fit a 36-37" tire with is SUA and some generous trimming. should fit 33's with out issue no trimming
yes, 33's will fit a CJ with 2.5" of lift, simply by the nature of the shackle mount on a CJ, you can fit a little larger tire on a specific size lift than a YJ.
Call Tom Woods on your shafts when you get that far.. they should be the last thing to go in.. make sure all the weight is on the rig when you measure them!
It will be a custom length depending on how your rig is setup..
I say stay SUA especially if you are using narrow springs.
I would not run taller than 33's on the D30 front.. You can but hard offroading will brake it..especially if you run lockers!
