    Front end possessed by devil

Here's an oddball suggestion. I had the same problem with my '81 CJ-7. Mine wander developed after the wheel bearings were repacked. Some dolt (that would have been me) did not get the spindle nuts torqued right as I did not have the rare (at least at the auto parts stores around here) socket...

    Spidertrax Wheel Spacers

Hi_C, I've looked at the wheel spacers too. The brand you mentioned that slip over the existing studs and bolt into place and also have their own set of studs seems like it would be a strong setup. Remember the rear AMC 20 axles used the hub to "cut" splines into the shaft (or the other way...

    Lining the tub

Any opinions on the Durabak stuff listed in the rags? I have a CJ5 that will hav some sort of spray in liner when I get that far. How about the wheel wells and frame etc. Been quite a while since I've posted. Kids, job, and moving have taken their toll. 8)

    Where do I start?

104000 IMHO make the engine breathe better (ie air cleaner, exhaust, throttle body larger, etc.). The fire is also important for consistancy and fuel efficiency (GOD look at the prices going up again). Possible concerns with the computer are the amount of flexibility for changes in airflow...

    Getting around state emmisions regulations

118000 On my 81 CJ-7 there is a plate inside the passenger compartment. It is located below the door opening driver's side inside the jeep. I am not sure of the info included on this plate (will check mine tomorrow and update this post if possible). Maybe there is some info that may help you...

    Getting around state emmisions regulations

123000 One other thought on this topic...witht the newer cats. available, there is very little loss of HP due to flow restrictions. Most of the cats. flow better than the factory originals did (or could ever have hoped to). Just my .02 worth. ------------------ Deny 81CJ-7; Jeep... it's an...

    4.2 engine with 4.0 head

128000 The site Rene lists looks like a good one. If you are a little more into this conversion, there is a group on yahoo groups titled strokers (get your mind outta the gutter). In this group the discussion is along this general mod with the added possibility of changing rods and possibly...

Already asked this and I've changed my mind...I think

181000 Checked my compression today...not pretty. The best cylinder had about 135psi compression. The rest ranged from 100 to 115. My Haynes manual lists the I-6 as having 150psi. I suppose this is an indication I need to rebuild or replace. Stupid question time. What's the difference...

    decipher?

256000 OK Here is a quick and dirty way to tell from the front of the vehicle. CJ's (produced from the beginning of time until '86) have round headlights and round turn signals located next to the front grill. YJ's (the next produced from '87 until '95) have rectangular headlights and...
