I did notice that all of the rods and rod caps were stamped when I dismantled the engine but I didn't notice the three that had the same numbers on them. I do plan on giving the shop a call to see what they advise. I'm hoping that they have a set there. If not then I'll be looking for used set...

Being my first rebuild, I expected to make some mistakes. The first big one that I noticed was not matching my rod caps with the rods after taking them out of the block. All of them are stamped but three of the rods and caps all have the number "3" stamped on the side. The others are 1,2, and 4...

Never mind. I found the master kit on their website. I see where they have selections of comp cams for an extra $64. Now just determining which one will be my next challenge. I like this website. A bit pricey but still cheaper than piecing it together I think.

Yes, purely in the engine alone it will be close to 850. I could get away with less but I want it to be practically a new engine when i am done so I will be replacing the distributor and pretty much anything else that isn't covered in the rebuild kit.
