will it or won't it start

Hello.... I have an 07 Grand Cherokee Laredo with about 80000km, V6 auto. A few times when attempting to start, it will not turn over or crank, but the dash lights up, fuel pump pressurizes, and the relay does click. Also tried shifting through the gears while the ign was on to see if the neutral safty switch was set. Was wondering if the fault could be the ign switch or a bad chip in the key. By the time I get back to the Jeep with the second key, my wife has it started. This problem does not happen to often, but it seems to be the first thing in the mornings. We bought it about a year ago and only drive on paved hwy, no off roading. :???:

If you have the SKIM system, Grey keys, a good indication that the key transponder chip has failed is by looking at your instrument cluster telltale lamp. If the red lamp or the yellow key symbol on the dash stays illuminated with the key ON, then the skim module is not detecting a programmed key. Compare the two keys you have with the one you think is causing a fault marked. If this is the case, you will need a new key and it needs to be programmed prior to use.
