Trying to locate and fix the shifter cable on my jeep. Found the one that controls the 4WD is this the same one for the automatic transmission?

Welcome to JEEPZ.com. The cable you found is for the transfer case and only shifts from 2wd to 4wd modes. Look for the automatic transmission shift cable on the driver's side above the pan. It will be attached to a lever which is mounted on a shaft that goes through the neutral safety switch.
