CJ roll bars do come up from the rear fender wells,but do not extend to the roof.
CJ7 roll bars;

TJ roll bars come up from the rear fender well and do extend to the front windshield.But it is not considered a full roll cage.

Not very good in stock form. They should be supplemented with a windshield hoop that bolts to the floor or frame, with spreaders tieing into the main hoop.
