Roll Control?

I read an article about them being used while on the trail, but wanted to get a second opinion. How was the holding power on the car? Do you think it would hold the jeep on an incline while shifting?

I had one on an 82 Camaro, it was nice being able to preload the suspension. It would hold until the front slid or the rear broke loose (usually the latter).

It would hold a Jeep up as long as the substrate the front wheels are on is firm. The problem you may run into in that kind of real steep situation is that all the weight shifts to the rear of the vehicle and the front will be light enough that the rig will slide backwards.

All I've ever used is the "heel and toe" method, and that has worked fine for me for over 20 years.

Well it is certainly cheaper than an automatic transmission, but since I started driving Jeeps with autos instead of standards a couple years ago I haven't stalled once ;)

Ya, there usually called line locks. Put one on the front line and one on the rear and you can do all kinds of cool stuff off road. Definatly worth it if you want to spend the money. You can probably piece together all the stuff you need from various places and end up doing it for less than what summit wants though.

You could make a hand throttle as a cheaper alternative for using the gas, break, and clutch at the same time...not as much fun though.

My buddies in high school were always amazed that I could powerbrake a standard transmission vehicle and get the tires smoking. Did all that by heel and toe.
