RE-GEARING

I HAVE A 2001 WRANGLER WITH A 2.5 LITER, AND HAVE PUT 32 INCH TIRES ON IT. I UNDERSTAND THAT AN OPTION TO IMPROVE THE POWER OF IT WOULD BE TO RE-GEAR THE AXLES. MY QUESTIONS ON THIS IS DO I NEED TO DO BOTH OR JUST THE REAR AXLE? WHAT IS THE APPROXIMATE COST TO HAVE THIS DONE, AND IS IT PRETTY DIFFICULT TO DO? IN ADDITION I HAVE BEEN INFRORMED THAT 4.88 ARE THE WAY TO GO. THANKS ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED.[addsig]

4.88 would prolly be the right gear.... you need to do the front and rear if you plan on using 4x4[addsig]

If you do not do em both your front tires will go at a different speed than your rears if in 4x4. That will either make your jeep very short or long depending on which is faster. heheheheh Tug :-D

haha... good thinking tug... the front will want to go faster... but i think you'd break something before that happened... but... maybe that is how AEV makes their extended wrangler versions[addsig]
