well here I go again,did the tune-up plugs wires dis.cap etc..even replaced O2 sensor.took it to mechanic and everything seemed to check ok,this thing runs great during the day BUT,when you turn on the lights it starts spitting and sputtering. the thing is it only does it in 1st and 2nd gear,after that through 3rd ,4th,and 5th it seems alright.I don't have a clue what to do now.does anybody have any suggestions Im running out of money and options.PLEASE HELP

I'm thinking that it's a partial short on the wiring between the lamps and the ignition circuit.

would adding another ground help?

Almost has to be a short where the wires have had the coating rubbed off and are touching either each other or metal on the vehicle.

Just thought I would say thanks to SteelHeadz,Shewilly,& dempsy1 for the advice,It took awhile but i think i might have actually fixed something.I located the cluster of ground wires above the map sensor on the firewall,found the bad one and made an external ground for it.So far everything seems ok. So again I say thanks.
