Has anyone else successfully converted to fuel injection?

We converted my wife's 86 CJ7 to a 1992 4.0 fuel injection. Overall, after many difficulties, we've had it running successfully for about 3 months. It runs great, but because of the conversion, we are unable to get any usable readings out of the diagnostic computers.

Ever since the conversion, the engine has difficulty idling. It starts well, slows down to a decent idle (we don't have tach, but it feels about right), and will stay there for about 10 seconds, and then the rpms just drop. If the engine is cold, it dies. I've put an small adjustment on the idle set screw, and got the engine to stay running after it warms up - otherwise everytime we came to a stop sign it would die whether it was warm or not. It has always started right back up, but then after idling smoothly for a few seconds, it would lose rpms again and die. The engine sounds as if it is choking when it dies.

Yesterday, after driving home (about 1 hour), the egine died pulling into the driveway. Now, it won't idle for more than a few seconds before it dies. I suspect the TPS and/or the AIS stepper motor. During the drive home yesterday, the engine missed a few times, and stalled briefly before restarting itself. Other than these couple of bugs, this engine runs fantastic! Any ideas on troubleshooting this?

Thanks - Joe

did you make any progress on this? I'm not very good with FI, but I'm interested is any fuel injected CJ. Got any photos?
