gas gauge/ how much left in tank?

I just bought a '98 TJ, 4 cylinder automatic.

If the gas gauge is working correctly, which I think it is, approx how much gas should be left in the tank when the warning light comes on? I think I saw where they have 15 gallon tanks, I filled this morning after the light came on and I got 11 gallons in. Does this sound about right? I don't want to run out of gas, obviously, but don't want to feel like the second the light comes on I need to stop right then.

Also, this was my 2nd fill up since I got it, 1st tank averaged about 16.5 MPG, does this sound about right?

Most low fuel lights will come on around 1 or 2 gallons.

Your mileage is good for a Jeep.

I have a 97 2.5l.

City i get 14.4 mpg
Hwy i get 18 mpg

So doing both i am also around 16 mpg
