Another 4x4 ?

I have a ? to see if anyone else has heard this. I have this thing with my jeep where when i want to take it out of 4 wheel drive no matter what position its in (4lo 4fulltime 4hi) i have to stop and put my truck in reverse for it to disengage. Now i asked a tech at my work but he isnt a jeep guy and he told me that some of the jeeps are exactly this way, this is the way they work, some require for you to go in reverse a little to disengage. Sound like crap? or is he right, if it sounds funny do you think having my transfer fluids changed would help?

Pretty common for the cases that have a fulltime 4wd option.

Changing the fluid, and using the best fluid available, may help shorten the distance you have to go in reverse, as it will loosen the binding sooner.
