So, in my quest to find a new TJ, I went to see what was described in the add as "a 1999 white jeep with tan top - $5600"
The guy wheeled around a white sahara edition with a hard top, AC, 6cyl manual that had 31 inch tires. The car looked ok, but the inside smelled like he rubbed it down with a dead cat, then threw all his garbage in there.
He claimed the jeep was pretty good, and he had indeed driven it to work that morning. We agreed that pending wife approval, I'd pay $5000 for it.
What do you guys think?
The good
AC
6 cyl
speaker bar
31 inch tires
cruise control
The bad
- 130,000 miles
- check engine light was on - stopped at autozone, and they pulled code P0442 and told me to get a new gas cap "no big deal" per the autozone dude.
- dents in the hood (although I'm an ok painter, no real problem there)
- It felt alittle bouncy, like it could use shocks. I did notice though, that the front sway bar was disconnected, so hooking it back up may fix that.
now on to the photos:
