    T-90 3speed

Not sure what your question exactly is but a T90 behind a V8 is not a good idea in my book, it just isn’t strong enough. (Voice of experience here as I have been there done that.)

    I6 burning oil, no smoke.

Remember, the I6 takes 6 quarts, not 5 that most cars do.

    I6 burning oil, no smoke.

3 quarts of oil in 300 miles and not burning it your drive way should look like an oil slick; it has to be going somewhere. If a stock set up, check the air filter for oil residue on the filter or if bad, the air box will have oil puddled in the bottom. Typically this is an indicator the rings...

    Plz help!

If the clutch was binding on something inside the bell housing or as part of the release system from the clutch pedal to the fork at the bell housing logic tells me the binding would not be related to gear selection inside the transmission. However when the shifter top is installed onto the...

    Plz help!

Maybe the shifter forks are not lined up properly inside the transmission. If it was the clutch you would be able to start in any gear.

    Will these seats fit?

Bestop makes replacement seats that fit 1976 to 2006 CJ & Wranglers but to use the seats in a TJ requires an adaptor as the holes in the bottom of the seat do not line up. (Holes in bottom of seat line up with the CJ & YJ floor bracket, not the TJ.) So, if you try to use TJ seats in a YJ an...

    Looking for a intake for a cj7 2.5

One more thing, the 1985 CJ is an AMC version of the I4, not the GM Iron Duke so make sure you get the right one. On the AMC I4 the intake and the exhaust manifolds are on the same side (drivers) of the engine where the GM I4 has the intake on one side and the exhaust on the other.

    Looking for a intake for a cj7 2.5

First of all, thanks for your servicce. I am a little concerned about what else may have been damage. Did the freeze plugs pop? Your best bet to find an OEM manifold is the junk yard, Craigs List, and ebay unfortunetly. There has to be some kicking around from removed engines for transplants...

86 Jeep cj 7 engine swap

It is easy to tell the difference between the AMC I4 from the GM I4 used in CJs. On the AMC version the intake manifold and the exhaust manifold will be on the same side of the motor (driver) while the GM version will have them on opposite sides of the motor from each other.

    Exhaust manifold

I don’t know the answer on this one but I would call Clifford and have them compare numbers. The 258 & 4.0 though similar actually are different animals.

    carb problum

You symptoms are classic fuel filter, the more gas you give it the more it sputters. Change the fuel filter for starters if you haven’t in a while as you probably need it anyway then check the nightmare of plumbing under the hood looking for bad connections, cracks in the hoses and such. If...

Follow-up question on a YJ exhaust manifold

$79 with free shipping is cheap to me but this stuff all comes from China or similar points now. As Bounty said, you can put what you want on it you just may need to adjust your down pipe.

Weber 38 or holley truck avenger?

Yep, brand spank’n new from Clifford. With the shipping and such I dropped about 400 bones for nothing; ended up giving it to the guy I later sold the jeep to as a “give me”.

Weber 38 or holley truck avenger?

Well I’ve tried to not bash Weber as all seemed to be leaning to “not the Weber” but I can’t help but lay this out there before Buck spends his hard earned money. Weber carbs can be good or they can be bad. If you get one that is good right out of the box you are a winner but if you...

Weber 38 or holley truck avenger?

The difference is the amount of air/gas mixture the carb can feed the engine and the capacity of the carb needs to match the motor’s ability to digest fuel. The 470 CFM is the smallest of the three and the one you probably would want; even a stock AMC 304 can’t handle more than the 470 CFM...

Some advice please, buying my Jeep

Dave- Out of the box the Rubicon comes with Dana 44, 4:10 gears, air lockers, and a 4 to 1 transfer case. You could spend $3,000 to $5,000 making those upgrades to your jeep if you have to buy all the parts individually and install them. Yes, the I6 - 4.0 is a wonderful engine and can give...

    Yj tubs ?

The YJ Wrangler started with the 1987 model year and ran through the 1996 model year. However, and there is some difference of opinion here, technically there was not a 1996 YJ Wrangler as the 1995 YJ was held over for 1996 while a new factory location in the Toledo area was tooled for the TJ...
