    leaky jeeps

I've owned 4 CJs, 4 Yjs, & 3 Tjs; they have all leaked. Even owned a Cherokee that leaked too. It's a Jeep thing.

If memory serves, this is a crank position sensor issue. Steelheadz help me out with this one once.

    79 CJ7 pops in 4WD

On a 1979 CJ the fuel pump is mechanical and rarely will become clogged, but will go bad. Typically if bad the diaphragm inside the pump is shot. It is possible for a pump to run for a bit then stop, a bit later they can work for a while then die again. Eventually they just stop working forever...

    79 CJ7 pops in 4WD

Just another thought but when the bearings inside the diff go out you will get some clanking but at first I have found it to be more hit and miss.

Did you clear the code? If not do that and drive it at least 20 miles to reset the computer.

    T 150 3 speed trans question

Not an Allen wrench but a 3/8" socket wrench should do. Put the stud of the wrench in the hole like it was a socket. It could just be a square male plug too.

    79 CJ7 pops in 4WD

When you lock in the hubs are you on pavement or dirt? Maybe you have a luch box locker in the pumpkin. If on pavement steering will be hard to keep under control, on dirt not so bad.

    '77 CJ Restoration Project

If it comes with a title $500 CDN is a smoking deal even if you only use it for parts. Without a title I would still try to pick it up if not a total rust bucket.

    Exhaust noise????

Not sure what you have under the hood, 2.5 or 4.0 but most likely the exhaust manifold is the problem. They will crack and crack again and again as I’ve even had the “new and improved” aftermarket manifolds crack; some of the real headers will hold up better. Replacing the manifold isn’t that...

    Transmission back-up light switch

You might try Painless Wiring as they make replacement harnesses for CJs. It’s worth a try. http://www.painlesswiring.com/

    engine query

With a 1989 Wrangler you could have either the BA 10/5 or AX5 transmission and I’m not sure I would put either behind a V8 of any flavor and expect it to last too long (unless you baby the jeep); if so why bother with the V8. The Dana 35 rear is suspect too. In other words the cost of this swap...

grinding noise in clutch and gas pedal

It’s somewhat easy to identify if the throw out bearing is acting up. Try pushing slowing in on the clutch. There should be a space before the bearing makes contact but when it does the noise should start and obviously stop when the clutch is released. The questions that I keep coming back to is...

    Shackle Lift

You probably need to install new bushings both top and bottom but washers on the spring sides will help make the difference up for the short term. Those shackles look like nothing but scary to me; shackle lifts are not the way to go because of the huge force placed on them while you wheel. I...

    Fuel Injectors

I need to change out the intake manifold on my 1999 4.0 Wrangler and figure that I may as well freshen up the injectors while doing the switch. What’s best?
